Our story

It all started in the summer of 2020.

​

Alex was hanging out with a friend who mentioned that he had plans the next day. When she asked what he was doing, he casually said, “I’m going on my friend’s boat.” Without hesitation —and with absolutely no shame— Alex invited herself

​

The next day, she showed up at Tull Lake and met a group of strangers, including Jason — otherwise known as “the guy with the boat.”

​

Somewhere between the boat days and hanging out that summer, we went from strangers to something a little more.

Five years later, Jason decided it was time to propose. He spent months planning everything and thought he had managed to keep it a secret.

Then, one hour before the proposal, Alex sent him a text:

Thankfully, the two friends helping Jason with the proposal stepped in and convinced her she was wrong. The plan survived, and Alex was still surprised.

It’s hard to believe that a spontaneous self-invitation led us here.  

​

We’re excited to celebrate with everyone who has been part of our lives along the way.
